San Francisco is a mammoth of a city that is famous for an extraordinary number of things. With many sights to behold and places to visit, San Francisco, or as it is more commonly called, the Golden City is the darling child of California. Around the year it attracts tourists from all over the world, some traveling alone or with a partner or visiting San Francisco as part of a group tour.
With so much to do and see, planning a group tour around the golden city may often turn into a nightmare. So, just in case you are planning a group trip around this city for the first time, here’s a list of few things that you need to keep in mind to make sure everyone has a wonderful trip.
1. Choosing transportation
Depending on your group size, make sure you choose a vehicle in which everyone feels comfortable and there is enough space to move around and engage in various activities. Charter a San Francisco tour bus rental so that you do not have to worry about the routes and traffic jams. Your driver will take care of everything for you so you guys can just relax and have fun.
2. Mapping out the destinations and planning tours
San Francisco has many things to offer. From buildings that gracefully scrape the sky to many important archaeological sites, historical monuments and lush green hills, the City by the Bay has it all. Since you guys will have a limited amount of time, make sure you choose your destinations wisely before visiting the city. This will help you to navigate through San Francisco easily and choose the fastest routes. Also, remember to choose places which everyone in the group is happy with. This is important because if one or two of the members aren’t having fun, it can bring down everyone else in the group too.
The main attractions of the city are obviously the Golden Gate Bridge, Silicon Valley, Chinatown, Market Street and Pier 39. Each of these places offers guided tours, so if you want to go the extra mile and delve deep into the history of these places, you might want to book these tours in advance. Guided tours are also offered by many of the bus rentals, so checking those out can save you some money and time.
3. Planning breaks
Since going around the city and touring the various stops might get tiring after a while, another important part of planning a group trip is deciding the pit stops. The pit stops can be gas stations, tiny eateries, and malls where you can stop along the way to recharge and stretch your legs. It also offers a good opportunity to restock the snacks and drinks and fill up the gas tank.
San Francisco has some amazing restaurants and hotels where you can stop and have some amazing food. The local food here is something out of this world and can rejuvenate you in a matter of minutes. There are also many spots near the San Francisco Bay area which are perfect for relaxing after a tiring tour. You can head to Pier 39, where you can sit on a pier and enjoy watching sea lions relaxing under the sun as you do the same.
4. Booking guided tours
There are some places around the city, where you can only get a private guided tour. Silicon Valley has many start-up company’s offices which offer their own private guided tours. In case you guys are interested in technology and would love to go on such tours, make sure to book them well in advance as they are rarely available on arrival.
5. Plan Distractions
While everyone knows the perks of a road trip playlist, even that can get boring after a while. So, when you have heard every song on the playlist at least five times and everyone is very bored, it is time to put on your cape and save the day. One of the best things that you can do on a group trip is to engage everyone in games and activities that will keep them interested till you reach the next stop. Here’s a list if you need some fresh ideas.
