A lot of people in the western world don’t even fully realize that Australia was very active in the world wars. There are different monuments around the shrine, but the centerpiece, in some respects, is a stunning building inspired by the Parthenon in Athens.

Australia is renowned for its wine producing regions, and one of the best of the bunch is the Yarra Valley. It’s very close to Melbourne, which makes it a must-see area if you have a few days in town. You can take an organized tour that will show you different wineries, which means soaking up beautiful areas and sampling some world-class wine while you’re at it!
